CPD conducts second search in animal rescue investigation

COHOES, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Colonie Police Department confirmed that another search warrant was executed on February 8 at a home on Baker Avenue in Cohoes in connection to a rescue of over 100 animals that occurred last month. The operators of Empawthy Rescue were arrested last week on animal cruelty charges stemming from the original incident.

The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society said their team assisted police on the scene for several hours on Thursday night. MHHS stated that no additional animals were seized during the search.

The humane society also urges anyone who may have fostered or adopted from Empawthy to visit with a veterinarian. Anyone with further information is asked to contact the MHHS at AnimalCruelty@mohawkhumane.org.
