Over 950 flights impacted at DIA during snowstorm Saturday

DENVER (KDVR) — Nearly a thousand flights were delayed or canceled in and out of the Denver International Airport Saturday as several inches of snow covered the metro area and high country.

The snow affected travel both on the roads and in the air, with slick roads causing road closures and heavy snow prompting 815 delays and 159 cancelations at DIA as of 4:30 p.m., according to FlightAware.

Many of the flights canceled were heading to or coming from other regional airports in Colorado, including Colorado Springs, Aspen-Pitkin County.

Delayed flights at Denver International Airport

Most of the delayed flights were on Southwest, United and SkyWest.

These airlines had more than 10 delayed flights as of 4:30 p.m. Saturday:

  • United: 313
  • Southwest: 282
  • SkyWest: 95
  • Delta: 24
  • CommuteAir: 26
  • Frontier: 28
  • American Airlines: 13

Canceled flights at Denver International Airport

Most of the canceled flights were on SkyWest and United.

These are the airlines with canceled flights as of 4 p.m. Saturday:

  • SkyWest: 82
  • United: 45
  • CommuteAir: 10
  • Mesa: 10
  • Southwest: 8
  • Delta: 2
  • Air Canada: 1
  • JetBlue: 1

As for Sunday, there were already 11 flights canceled and 7 delayed in and out of DIA as of Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

The airport posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, warning air travelers about flight changes.

Travelers are advised to check with their airline for delays or cancelations before heading to the Denver airport.
